Triple five’s for Gafrarar
at Greenville Pickens

Mooresville NC - It was a night of five’s for Goody’s Dash
Driver Chuck Gafrarar, Mooresville, NC on Saturday July 13th at the
historic Greenville Pickens Speedway (GPS), Greenville SC. Gafrarar
and the Highlands Motorsports Team qualified the #52 car in fifth place.
During the first 50 laps of the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 100 event,
Gafrarar held his fifth place lead. Next lap he passed the #17 of Mike
Watts to take fourth place. Maintaining fourth spot until lap 65 when
Car #10 of Danny Bagwell passed Gafrarar to take over the fourth spot.
By lap 80 Gafrarar’s brakes started to fade. Holding his fifth
place spot Gafrarar started setting his rhythm on the track (not to
use his brakes) and bring the Highlands #52 over the checkered to a
fifth place finish.
Gafrarar also claimed his fifth Mag-Clip High Finishing Rookie of the
Race Award! He holds seventh place in the points series and is maintaining
his first place spot in the Rookie of the Year points challenge! “I
really enjoyed having the opportunity to race at Greenville Pickens – it’s
a part of racing history dating back to 1946.” “This is
my first run here at GPS and I really enjoyed the challenge to represent
all of my sponsors with a top five finish.”
Sponsors Gafrarar carried over the finish line on car #52 are: Food
Country, Lopez & Associates LLC, Icehouse Beer, Pro-Image Computer
Graphics, Allan Powell Motorsports Racing Engines, Highlands Motorsports,
Weaver Race Cars, I.H. Caffey, Lincoln Welders and Champion Windows,
Siding and Patio Rooms.
The GPS event was the eighth race of the 14 event series. Pre-race
festivities included a Driver autograph session with GPS race day posters
available for the fans to have signed. Gafrarar and six other drivers
were featured on the posters as well as the Race Programs.
The next race up for Chuck will be Southern National Speedway, Kenly
SC
