Mooresville NC - Chuck Gafrarar, driver of the #52 NASCAR Goody’s
Dash Touring series will be appearing August 16th at the Motordrome
Speedway, Smithton PA. and on August 17th at the Hard Rock Cafe' -
Bessimer Court, Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh PA. The appearance
will help kick-off race festivities for the Motordrome Speedway race
Friday, September 13th in Smithton, PA. Also appearing at the Hard
Rock Café will be Robert Huffman, Claremont NC driver of car
#37 and Randy Humphrey, Cornelius, NC, driver of car #93!
Gafrarar is currently in first place for the Mag-Clip Rookie of the
Year points challenge. Racing since the early age of nine he ran the
Pro Kart circuits for 18 years. Gafrarar is a Lancaster PA man who
graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Over the years he has worked for Trick Karts, Hank Parker Motorsports
and Jasper Motorsports. Until January of 2002 Gafrarar was a Fabricator
for Penske Racing South/Rusty Wallace! He left that position, after
over six years, to launch his own career in the NASCAR stock car series!
He has owned and operated his own business (Chuck Gafrarar Raceworks
INC.), which he kept going on a part-time basis, until taking it on
fulltime in 2002. Chuck resides in Mooresville NC.
Chuck was a Factory Driver for the DUNLOP Tire Corporation for many
years on the karting circuit. He claimed over seven Champion titles
over the years, ranging from National, Regional, Grand National and
Indoor World Champion. He ran the World Karting Association (WKA) and
International Karting Federation (IKF) events during his karting career.
He was also a WKA Speed School Kart Instructor, Lowes Motor Speedway,
Charlotte, NC.
On Friday and Saturday, August 16th and 17th race fans will have the
opportunity to meet the drivers and preview their cars. Meet the drivers
with their cars on display will be Friday, August 16th at Motordrome
Speedway from 6 to 9 PM, and Saturday, August 17th at the Hard Rock
Café, Station Square from 11 AM to 4 PM. The Drivers will be
signing autographs and are available for press interviews on Saturday,
August 17th at the Station Square location from 11 AM to 4 PM. Their
cars will be displayed near the valet area at the Café.
During the 2002 race season Gafrarar carries the following sponsors
over the finish line: Icehouse Beer, Lopez and Associates, LLC, Highlands
Motorsports Inc., Refrigeration Services, Inc., I.H. Caffey, Food Country
USA, Allan Powell Race Engines, Pro-Image Computer Graphics, Weaver
Race Cars, Lincoln Welders, and Shields Electronics Inc.
Gafrarar’s next race will be August 21st at Bristol Motor Speedway,
Bristol TN. Team owner, Wade Lopez and his Highlands Motorsports Team
shop is located in Bristol. Gafrarar stated,

all look forward to racing at Bristol and I hope for a great finish
for our team.”
Being a former Pennsylvania native Gafrarar stated
“I
am excited to have the opportunity to race this series at the Motordrome.” We
have fourteen events, with only three to go.”
